International Baccalaureate Update
February 1, 2010
Dear Littleton High School Community,
I know all of you are staying informed about school budgetary developments during this spring legislative session. As the Littleton Public Schools Board of Education continues to discuss cuts to staffing and programs, the Denver-area media has reported on meetings and workshops.
Last Friday the Denver Post ran an article about budget cuts in Littleton Public Schools. The article stated that “the International Baccalaureate programs at two district schools no longer can be financially supported by the district.” The story did not name the two schools affected by this decision. Therefore, it is important to note that the LITTLETON HIGH SCHOOL IB program will NOT be affected by the budgetary shortfalls. Our IB program will continue to operate at the high level you have come to expect!
I hope this clarifies any confusion that was created by recent media reports. We look forward to continuing the great work we are able to do with you and your children. Thank you for your ongoing support of the IB program at Littleton High School!

IBPO Meetings
Monday, April 5, 2010
“The College Process: What To Expect.” Current sophomores, juniors and their families are invited to view the documentary “In 500 Words or Less” that follows four high school seniors through the college process. From taking entrance exams and going to college fairs, to writing the personal essay and juggling senior year academics and activities, the video profiles high-achieving seniors aspiring to highly-selective colleges and universities. The film will be followed by a panel discussion of IB and AP parents who have sent their children to college. 6:30-8:30 pm in the LHS Forum.
Monday, May 3, 2010
Mandatory meeting for sophomores continuing in IB next fall. CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) expectations and projects will be explained. Parents are encouraged to attend! 7 pm in the library.
